I did it (and farewell for now)!

As you can see, the progress bars in the left sidebar have all turned green. I made my yearly goal for writing 150,000 new words of fiction and translating them. That means I'll have a lot of publications for next year. The first one is going to be the non-linear novel that I started so many years ago (some of you might still remember).

It also means that I'll have to learn more about marketing (and implement what I learn). Therefore posts to this blog will probably remain sporadic as best. I'll try to let you know about marketing strategies that work for me, and about my new releases, but that's all I'll have time for in 2017.

In total 2016 has been a hard year for me. When my father was diagnosed with breast cancer, my world crumbled and I was unable to write, read, or learn anything new. The whole family was in a sort of limbo. Only when it became clear after the operation that he'd fully recover, I managed to get back to +-normal. I sincerely hope that the next year will be more gentle to all of us.

Have a wonderful Christmas and get into the new year safely.
All the best,

Sorry for the long absence, and a little freebie

I know I've been absent from this blog for way too long (last post says April, ugh), but I've had a couple of personal catastrophes (incl. my dad getting breast cancer of all things). Now that the dust has settled, I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things. Last month I set up a lot of new releases (up to x-mas) and prepared this year's NaNoWriMo stories.

Also, I participated in something really, really fun, and it's aimed at you: writers. We collected 20 flash stories that are fatally flawed. Can you spot the flaw(s) before the author tells you? The anthology is available for free and you can share it with as many writer friends as you like.

Download it for free here: InstaFreebie, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iBooks, Kobo, Scribd, Weltbild (tolino)

I hope you're having a great time,

P.S.: Of course we'd be delighted if you could leave a short review when you finish reading

Allie's Indie Author Fringe

I'm just back from a 3 week stay at a health resort (nothing serious, just recovering lost energies) and found that the Indie Author Fringe has already started. It takes place three times a year and is organized by the Alliance of Independent Authors (Allie).

They have a days worth of panels with videos and text lectures that are extremely useful for writers. You might want to check it out.

I promised I'd let you know

so here it is:

Once upon a time in a world where magic and technology collide with unexpected consequences…

When Marge and her father enter the town to sell charcoal, the young smith John falls for her immediately. However, beautiful girls vanish overnight in town, and he has no idea where Marge is staying. Can he find her despite the curfew before the kidnappers will?

What if the Brothers Grimm didn't notice that "Hänsel und Gretel" weren't siblings at all?

The book includes a bonus story and the original fairy tale.

You can get John and Marge here. If you leave me a review and send me the link, I'll give you a copy of one of the other books. :D

Number 5 is (nearly) alive!

Hi all,

the blog post's title is a reference to the German title of Short Circuit. :D

I've been working a lot behind the scenes to get my next fairy tale retelling ready for release. Here's the cover. I darkened the name of the original. Can you guess which fairy tale it is this time?

Tell me what you think. What do you expect to be in this tale? I'm curious. I'll let you know the blurb and other details once it goes life.

BTW, if you're interested in reading in exchange for a review, shoot me an eMail though my main website.

Have a great time,
